Surgical Procedures
Skin Cancer Surgery
BCC, SCC and Melanoma.
Excisions, reconstructions, flaps and grafts. These procedures are performed under local anaesthesia, sedation or general anaesthesia.
Breast Reduction
Performed to reduce breast size and to lift a droopy breast. Most reductions use a Wise pattern skin incision (anchor scar). The nipple stays attached to preserve sensation and the ability to breast feed in younger patients. Usually an overnight stay in hospital and one week off light duties.
Abdominoplasty
Abdominoplasty removes excess skin and associated fat from the abdomen below the level of the umbilicus. Separated abdominal muscles are repaired and surrounding liposuction performed for recontouring. Most commonly performed after pregnancy or weight loss. A mons lift may be part of the procedure.
Facial and Eyelid Reconstructive Surgery
Common areas of facial surgery are medically indicated Blepharoplasty (upper eyelid reduction), prominent ear correction and post traumatic deformity.
Top Surgery
Gender affirming surgery usually as a two scar procedure with free nipple grafts. Eligibility criteria as per WPATH SOC8.
Body Contouring Surgery
After massive weight loss problematic areas of excess skin are usually the abdomen, breasts, thighs and arms. Removal of skin in these areas requires excision by abdominoplasty (belt lipectomy / vertical midline incsions may also be needed), brachioplasty or thigh reduction. These procedures require long scars to adequately address the extent of the skin excess.
